He has been scoring hits since the 1970s, from the time he made his breakthrough with American soul and funk band The Commodores, with hits like Easy, Three Times a Lady and Brick House. He left the band and went solo in the 1980s. And success never left him: hits like All Night Long and Hello gave him the standing of a superstar. You can hear how Richie sounds today on his latest album Just Go, on which he collaborated with three of the hippest contemporary hit-makers: Tricky Stewart & The Dream (known for his work with Mariah Carey and Usher), Stargate (Ne-Yo, Shakira, Rihanna) rapper and hip-hopper Akon. According to Richie, the result is: “Probably my best album since Dancing on the Ceiling!” By the way, one of the songs on Just Go, the hypnotic Face in the Crowd, was produced in the Netherlands and recorded during Richie’s performance at Symphonica in Rosso.
