Marcus Miller
Marcus Miller has been at the top of the contemporary jazz scene for many years. Though best known as a bass player, Miller is also a praised composer, producer and multi instrumentalist. At age thirteen, he was already playing bass, piano and clarinet. Later, he became a sought-after session musician and played on more than 500 albums by such artists as Michael Jackson, Wayne Shorter, McCoy Tyner, Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin and Elton John, among many others. He did most of his work with Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Luther Vandross and David Sanborn, as well as solo. Miller received a great number of Grammy Awards; as a producer, but also for his solo album ‘M2’. Nowadays he has also established a successful career composing film scores.
