Koffee, also known as Original Koffee, is a singer, songwriter, rapper, and guitarist from Jamaica. Born Mikayla Victoria Simpson, she was raised by a single, hard working mother and got her musical start singing in the church choir. At age 12, she taught herself to play guitar and began writing songs. Her 2019 debut EP
Rapture won the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album, making Koffee both the youngest person and only woman to be awarded in the Best Reggae Album category. Named by
Elle magazine as one of “10 Trailblazing Women Changing The Future You Need To Know” in 2020, Koffee (who got her name after ordering a coffee on a boiling hot day while everyone else opted for soda) may be may be small in stature, but she is growing into a big star fast. Her debut album,
