The organization of the Curaçao North Sea Jazz Festival is pleased and proud to announce the final names for the upcoming edition. AFRO 23 was added to the line-up on Thursday, August 29, and Joss Stone on Friday. Aloe Blacc and Kamasi Washington complete Saturday's program. The festival opens on Wednesday August 28 with a free concert by Candy Dulfer at Kura Hulanda Village.

Cuban singer, pianist and producer AFRO 23 was a timbalero in the Caisimu Orchestra, was musical director of the Salsa Candela Orchestra, played piano in the Sonido Caliente Orchestra and collaborated with many more great Cuban music orchestras. After travelling the world, discovering rhythms and sounds along the way, he settled in Miami and signed his first record contract in 2022, before releasing his single Soy Afro 23.

British soul singer Joss Stone has been in the business for over twenty years. At the time of her debut in 2003 with The Soul Sessions, she was only sixteen years old. Since that debut, she has released eight more studio albums, won a Grammy and two BRIT Awards, and performed with greats such as James Brown, Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, and Mick Jagger. She is currently on a promotional tour for her live album 20 Years Of Soul.

Aloe Blacc is an American singer, rapper and musician. After his break-out hit I Need A Dollar he put himself even more firmly on the map in 2013 with the single Wake Me Up, which he co-wrote and sang with the late Swedish DJ Avicii. His fifth and latest album All Love Everything was released in 2020 but in May of this year, he announced a two-part series of EP’s called Rock My Soul, with soul covers of rock songs and due for release this year.

Multi-instrumentalist, composer and bandleader Kamasi Washington took the music world by storm in 2015 with his three-hour-long debut album The Epic. The saxophonist has collaborated with varied artists, including Kendrick Lamar, Herbie Hancock, Chaka Khan and Snoop Dogg, to name just a few. Washington scored the Michelle Obama documentary Becoming, earning Emmy and Grammy nominations for his work, and co-founded the supergroup Dinner Party with Terrace Martin, Robert Glasper and 9th Wonder in 2020. His latest album Fearless Movement was released earlier this year.

Dutch saxophonist Candy Dulfer earned international fame for her collaborations with Prince, Van Morrison and Dave Stewart of Eurythmics, among others. With the latter, she scored a global hit with the song Lily Was Here. Her debut album Saxuality was nominated for a Grammy Award and several of her singles reached number 1 in the United States. She has been touring the world with her band almost continually for over 30 years. In 2022, she released her latest album, We Never Stop.
