Jazz musician at heart, that's what Danilo Pérez is. Pérez was just a young boy when he learned to play various instruments, including piano and the bongos, which paid off on the long term. His numerous Grammys awards and nominations prove that he actually is one of the greatest jazz composers of our time. Through the years, Perez was a member of several bands with which he made albums that all tell a story of their own. One of his most personal albums ‘The Journey’ told the story of the journey that African slaves used to make across the ocean and ‘PanaMonk’ was a tribute to Thelonious Monk. The depth that is created due to this particular element is not just something Danilo Perez is praised for, but it’s what makes him a wonderful and special artist.
