If salsa princess La India is present at the festival, the prince of salsa shouldn’t be far away. For this reason, none other than el principe de la salsa Luis Enrique, will come to Curacao to bring us under the spell of his salsa sensual: the romantic salsa with its sensitive, poppy ballads. Enrique saw the crowning of his musical career, which spans more than twenty years, when he was awarded no less than two Latin Grammies in 2009. One was for his album Ciclos (Tropical Album of the Year) and the second for the hit single Yo No Se Mañana (Tropical Song of the Year). The singer, who originates from Nicaragua, has the salsa rhythm running in his blood. Most fans know he is also a very talented drummer. He has played with Arturo Sandoval, Gloria Estefan, Juan Luis Guerra and rock band Foreigner. The world-famous pop star Ricky Martin even invited him to perform on his hit single Un, Dos, Tres, Maria. So if you wish to meet the Prince of salsa in the flesh, be sure to show up at Curacao North Sea Jazz.
